Inspiration in a Fortune Cookie

I’ve been away for the past three weeks traveling and enjoying the new year. Husband and I took a belated honeymoon from our April wedding. Internet access and posting has been spotty due to the travel, but now we’re back home where the modern conveniences of computers, the internet, and drinkable tap water abound. As a preview for future posts on food and adventures from our trip, I’ll share the best piece of written inspiration that I encountered. These were from airplane fortune cookies. It seems appropriate to share for the Chinese New Year too!

Perhaps I sometimes fall prey to what the bottom fortune suggests and think too much. For 2012 I will seize the day and try not to get stuck over-contemplating the details (aka sweating the small stuff).

What’s your favorite fortune?

I can’t wait to hear all about your trip!!

A great fortune I received was something along the lines of ‘don’t answer an unintelligent question with an unintelligent response’. I actually think about this often – it’s a great reminder to treat everyone with respect and try to see someone else’s perspective.
