Many years ago, when being “environmentally aware” was first becoming fashionable, I came across a reusable bag in a gift store. “What a clever idea, and cute design” I thought. For maybe $5 I walked home with my first Envirosax. I thought the pattern of white birds and red berries against a navy background was somehow jaunty and Parisian. I slipped it into my purse and found myself grabbing it nearly every day to carry groceries, extra papers and junk home from work, clothes, etc. It also helped control the avalanche of plastic bags that seems to accumulate in the cabinet under the sink. You know the one.

I didn’t really think much about it but kept on using my Envirosax bag. Several years later I started noticing them popping up in more and more places – like the supermarket, The Container Store, and local gift shops. One year I even gave them to friends and family as holiday gifts. I have several patterns, but my first faded bag is the one I still carry with me every day. It fits in my pocket and makes it so much easier to haul groceries all the way home from the store. Nowadays you can find so many reusable bags – a shape, style, color and fabric to suit every discriminating taste and need. Whatever brand you prefer, just remember to keep one in your pocket or purse and you won’t have to use a plastic bag next time you’re out shopping. This is better for you, me, and the environment!
Because I think Envirosax are so wonderful, I thought I’d see if I could not just tell you about these great bags, but give you one! Luckily for me (and you) the folks at Envirosax are friendly, agreeable, and easy to work with. They donated a bag to one lucky Bread and Beta reader. To celebrate Earth Day, recently publishing my 100th post, and to spread a little love – love of minimizing waste and reusing materials, love for a great product and a socially responsible company, and love for all of you that are still reading, I’m doing the first Bread and Beta Giveaway!
