Blenders and Kitchen Appliances

I’ve decided to participate in NaBloPoMo, National Blog Posting Month. For the month of November, I’m going to post every day. This is day 7.

Week 1 of NaBloPoMo is over – whew! Wasn’t that fun? I’ve already posted more in one week than I have in the past 9 months combined. Amazing – both what a little motivation and camaraderie can do, and how little I’ve posted over the year.

I hope you’ll stay tuned for the next three weeks where we’ll see if I can keep up.

In other news – what’s your take on kitchen gadgets and appliances? Love ’em? Hate ’em? Can’t get enough? I’ve been contemplating blenders. We have nearly every gadget you could think of after my stint at Williams-Sonoma. Except somehow we never acquired a blender. Until now, I’ve never needed or wanted one. We have all these other appliances so it seemed that a blender was moot, just another device that sort of does the same thing as those other devices, in a slightly different shape.

Well, I’m starting to reconsider. What blender would you recommend? I know there’s so much hype about the Vitamix line of blenders. I’ll admit, they sure do look amazing. But you know, so does an extra $600 in my pocket. It seems there are many alternatives at lower price points. One of them might soon find a home with us.

You’ve been warned. Pureed foods may start to make more frequent appearances here.
