I can’t believe that I’m already at my 50th post! Even though only a few short months have gone by, I’m marveling at how much this blog has developed, and has helped me to develop. The things coming out of our kitchen are increasingly creative and contain more layers of flavor. I’m exploring and trying new recipes and ingredients that I might otherwise have passed over.
I’m learning more about photography and lighting and how to use the camera. Mike is really good about helping me and teaching me (he is a photo teacher, after all). I do still have a lot to learn, but I think the pictures are slowly improving. This has been validated by several successful submissions to TasteSpotting.
I’ve been full of ideas for new recipes because I keep reading other blogs and articles and it is all so exciting! Thank you for your comments, suggestions, recipes and inspiration, both here and on your own blog.
I’ve worked on creating a goal list and identifying the purpose of this little blog. One goal is to grow my readership. So, if you are reading this, would you give me a 50th-Post gift by passing it on to a friend/coworker/family member/casual acquaintance? Better yet -you can subscribe to receive posts via email* or through the RSS feed, then you won’t have to worry about missing any!
This week has brought a number of firsts:
– I found Bread and Beta added to a blog roll!
– I got humorous feedback on a recipe that a reader actually tried at home!!
– I received a real live package of a food product to sample!!!
This last bit is perhaps the most exciting part. I received a box of several different varieties of dried mushrooms from Marxx Foods. Mike and I have been experimenting with mushroom recipes and it’s very exciting. Well, Mike has actually taken the lead in the experimentation. I’ve just been the content taster. I hope to have him guest post about his recipes soon.
Other plans and improvements for Bread and Beta are slowly in the works. If not a single one of them has happened by post 100 I’ll have to share to fend off depression.
*To subscribe, enter your email address into the field at the top of the blog and click the button. I haven’t yet figured out how to make it a link – that’s on the goal list. Any pointers?
