I love cooking dinner for Mike and I, and I love cooking dinner for friends and family. There’s something really satisfying and exciting about dreaming up a new dish and then sharing it with loved ones. But sometimes, I don’t want to deal with all the fuss, the people, and the fear of making (and eating) something that is merely mediocre....
Some time ago I made a recipe featured in the August 2010 issue of La Cucina Italiana Magazine, for stuffed paccheri. At this point, I can barely remember the occasion, how involved the recipe was, or what I originally intended to write about it. It was so involved, that I decided to split the recipe into two posts. “How clever,” I thought....
Now that the weather has turned cooler I’m reflecting on the bounty of summer, and I don’t think I’ve properly gushed about this season’s tomatoes. Between our community garden plot and our weekly CSA pickups, I can’t remember ever having so many tomatoes that were bursting with such intense, sweet and complex flavors....
